What was supposed to be a romantic anniversary getaway quickly turned into a nightmare after a shocking phone call from a woman’s mother revealed that her husband’s forgotten passport might be hiding a much darker secret.
The couple had been planning their vacation for months. They were already at the airport, preparing to board their flight, when her husband, Dereck, suddenly announced that he had left his passport at home.
At first, she thought he was joking. But he insisted that he had checked his bag several times and couldn’t find it.
When she suggested calling her mother, who lived just ten minutes away from their house, Dereck immediately became uncomfortable.
He even insisted that he should return home himself.
His strange reaction made her suspicious, but she eventually called her mother and asked her to check the bedside drawer where Dereck usually kept his belongings.
While they waited, Dereck became increasingly nervous, shifting in his seat and repeatedly avoiding her questions.
About twenty minutes later, her phone rang.
It was her mother.
Instead of asking about the passport, her mother immediately asked where Dereck was.
When she learned that he was sitting right beside her daughter, she lowered her voice.
“Listen carefully. Don’t let him know what I’m about to tell you.”
The woman suddenly felt her stomach tighten.
Then came the words she never expected to hear:
“Sweetheart, he set you up! Come home now!”
She was completely stunned.
Before she could ask what her mother had discovered, Dereck reached for her hand and casually asked whether his passport had been found.
Trying not to reveal her fear, she forced a smile.
But her mother wasn’t finished.
“Hang up right now. And whatever you do, don’t let him see what I’m about to send you.”
Seconds later, a photograph appeared on her phone.
She opened it—and froze.
Whatever her mother had discovered inside their home was enough to make her question everything she thought she knew about her husband.
What was in that photograph? What had Dereck been hiding, and why was he so desperate to stop her mother from going home?
The answer would change everything.
