Pakistan: 9 more members of PTI to be tried under Pakistan’s harsh Army Act


LAHORE: Nine more members of former PM Imran Khan’s PTI were handed over to Pakistan army on Wednesday to be tried under the stringent Pakistan Army Act over their alleged role in the May 9 attacks on military installations. With these arrests, the number of PTI leaders to be tried under the Army Act and exceeded 50. “On the orders of the anti-terrorism courts, nine suspects from PTI were handed to the Pakistan army,” a court official said.
Meanwhile, Imran’s bail in the Al Qadir Trust graft case has been extended until June 19, his lawyer said. Imram and his wife are both accused in the case, which pertains to the alleged receiving of financial help from a land developer in the setting-up of Al Qadir University of which the former PM and his spouse are trustees. agencies
